Honoring a Tradition of Care in Silvis, IL Funeral Services

Our family's legacy of service spans over 182 years, rooted in our founding by Charles Bishop Knox in 1841. Beginning as an undertaker, crafting coffins for Rock Island County residents, Charles laid the foundation for a business that would endure generations. Edwin B. Knox, his successor, expanded the scope of our services, establishing Moline Coffins Rooms and later operating as "E. B. Knox, Picture Framing and Undertaking." Joining his father in the business in 1892, Luther Knox played a pivotal role in shaping the future of our family's enterprise. Together, they built a state-of-the-art funeral home at Fifth Avenue and 18th Street, known as E. B. Knox and Son.

In 1923, we took the next step in our journey, relocating to our current location. Our dedication to providing exceptional funeral services led us to convert the former Barber residence into the first funeral home in the Midwest solely dedicated to funeral services. Sadly, E. B. Knox passed away in 1926, but the legacy of our family business was carried on by the Trimble family in 1945. Operating as Knox-Trimble Funeral Home and later as Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, they continued to build upon our heritage, expanding to Coal Valley and Aledo to better serve our community.

Recognizing the changing needs of our community, we diversified our offerings in 1985 by acquiring Julius Staack and Sons Florist. This marked our entry into the retail sector, allowing us to provide a wider range of services and support during difficult times. Wilson House Stationers and WaterMark Corners soon joined our family of businesses, presenting opportunities to assist our community in the most meaningful ways.

Our commitment has remained steadfast throughout the years - to reflect upon life, appreciate its beauty, and honor the stories that shape us. We are not simply a funeral home but a united community, coming together to cherish and commemorate the inspiring narratives that define our lives.
