A Legacy of Caring in Davenport, IA Funeral Services

For over 182 years, our family has dedicated themselves to serving the community with unwavering commitment. Our story began in 1841 when Charles Bishop Knox started as an undertaker, crafting coffins for Rock Island County residents. As time progressed, the business was passed down to Edwin B. Knox, who established Moline Coffins Rooms and eventually operated as "E. B. Knox, Picture Framing and Undertaking." And in 1892, Luther Knox joined his father, and together they constructed a new funeral home at Fifth Avenue and 18th Street, known as E. B. Knox and Son. In 1923, they relocated to our current location, transforming the former Barber residence into the first Midwest funeral home solely dedicated to funeral services. Following E. B. Knox's passing in 1926, the Trimble family assumed control in 1945, operating as Knox-Trimble Funeral Home and later as Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory. The business continued to flourish, expanding to Coal Valley and Aledo. In 1985, we expanded our services by acquiring Julius Staack and Sons Florist, diving into retail. Soon after, we added Wilson House Stationers and WaterMark Corners, providing even more offerings to our beloved community. At the heart of our services lies a deep commitment to honoring and celebrating life. We go beyond being just a funeral home - we are a tightly-knit community that values and commemorates the remarkable stories of life.
