Zachary J. Meincke

Zachary J. “Mikey” Meincke, 19, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Services are 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 13 in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline, with Rev. Tanner Payton officiating.  Visitation is 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday.  Memorial may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Mikey’s memory.

Born on August 4, 2004, in Davenport, Iowa, he was the cherished son of James Meincke and Jenny Rosenbaum.

Zachary graduated from Moline High School in 2023 and was known for his vibrant personality and infectious smile. A lover of fast cars, playful corgis, competitive dart games, and engaging movies, Zach lived his life with a joy and enthusiasm that magnetically drew people to him. His spirit was characterized by a delightful goofiness, and he was invariably the life of any gathering.

Renowned for his big heart and warm hugs, Zach’s greatest joy was the time spent surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was a beacon of kindness and genuine affection.

Zachary is survived by his mother, Jenny Rosenbaum Meincke of Rock Island; his father and step-mother, James and Shannon Meincke of Rock Island; sisters, Alyssa (Shannon Moran) Meincke and Kierstyn Meincke, both of Rock Island; step-siblings, Shayla (Austin Walton) Hart and Zander Hart; his grandmother, Marlene Meincke of Davenport; his aunt, Kelli Rosenbaum; cousins, Kyler Rosenbaum and Aceyn Brown; his dog/best friend, Budder.  His life was rich with friendships, including Emilio, Hunter, Rory, Gabe, Drey, Jamie, Daniel, and Kiele, as well as his dear friend Giovanni Flores, who tragically passed on the same day.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Cindy Rosenbaum; his uncle, Bruce Rosenbaum; and good friends, Jeremie and Kenny Carrol.
