Xavier L. Holliday

Xavier Lee Holliday, aged 44, of Rock Island, Illinois, embarked on an unexpected journey to his eternal Home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 18, 2023. His earthly presence may have departed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of all who knew him.

A homegoing celebration to honor Xavier's life will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 7, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation will commence one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to Regina Cafaro, his devoted mother, for a fund to be established in her son's cherished memory.

Xavier was born on May 23, 1979, in Rock Island, Illinois, the beloved son of Regina Cafaro and Michael Holliday, Sr. He was a true entrepreneur and genuine hustler throughout his career, recently contributing his talents to Bedding Group in Rock Island. Xavier's generosity was boundless; he shared nearly all of his earnings with others, embodying the essence of a true helper.

He was an adventurer, traversing the nation from coast to coast. In his youth, he excelled in baseball, later becoming a national competitor in Judo. A true Cleveland Browns fanatic, he wore his team's colors with pride. Xavier held a deep affection for his hometown, Rock Island, and was a passionate advocate for marijuana reform. Xavier was a dedicated foodie, frequently savoring the offerings of many local restaurants, with a follow up trip to Whitey’s Ice Cream.

Above all, Xavier's unwavering faith and devotion to his family defined his life. He walked every step with a strong belief in God, praying constantly and embodying the teachings of Jesus through his actions. His mother, Regina, held a special place in his heart, and their bond was unbreakable. Xavier was also a doting uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews, showering them with love and affection.

Xavier is survived by his beloved mother, Regina Cafaro of Rock Island; his siblings, Delbert (Rosetta) Holliday, Tyrone Holliday, Tracy (Jennifer) Williams, Brian (Temia) Holliday, Michael Holliday III, Jarvis Holliday, Spencer Holliday, Alix (Hannah) Holliday, Malik Holliday, and Rod Taylor; sisters, Tracy (Benny) Singleton, Kimberly Hume-Holliday, Myka Holliday, Myra Holliday, Anna Holliday, Issi Holliday, Lita Taylor, Yolanda Taylor, and Trish Vesey. He leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews, a daughter, Quanitra Holliday, and her three daughters (Gerzaria McGraw, GerManii McGraw and Gerveila McGraw). Xavier's life was also enriched by a special friend, Ebony Cordova, and her children, Juan and Jose Cordova. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Holliday, Sr., and a brother, Michael Holliday.

Xavier's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will forever shine as a beacon of hope in our hearts, guiding us through the darkest of days. In our sorrow, we find solace in the knowledge that Xavier now rests in the loving embrace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where pain and suffering are no more, and eternal peace reigns.
