Willie L. Thomas, Jr.

Willie L. Thomas, 70, of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, died Friday, November 25, 2022, in UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 11:15 a.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Willie Lee Thomas, Jr., was born January 24, 1952, in Greenwood, Mississippi, the son of Willie Lee Thomas, Sr. and Laura Hampton.

He enjoyed fishing, washing his cars, dressing nice, listening to his old-school music, and being around his family and friends.

Willie is survived by his ex-wife, Sharon Foster; five children, Angela (Herbert) Pritchard of Carbon Cliff, Laura (Tramale) Patrick of Rock Island, Jerrell and Janell Carter, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Eric; four sisters, Ruth Rivera, Bobby Sutton, Annie Sutton, and Ruth Peoples; two brothers, Turner Vice and Willie D. Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, aunties and uncles. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evonn Nelson; a son, Angelo Foster; and a grandson, DeSavion Foster.
