Willie “Big Fred” Scales, Sr., 55, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 12, 2021, at his home.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Lorenzo Martin officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the family.
Willie was born February 16, 1966, in Helena, Arkansas, the son of the late Alberta “Vick” Holmes-Taylor and the late Willie Taylor. He married Carleasha Kelley in 1998.
Willie worked as a child care provider for his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. Willie was a good-hearted man who would help anyone in need and was a friend to all. He was the perfect definition of a good man and was loved by many.
Surviving are his children, Willie (Casstialeigh) Scales, Jr., Antwoine Eubanks, Jamarlo Scales, DeBrisha Scales, Skyya (Jerrod) Gavin, Tino Johnson, Danarion Scales, and Shaquela Owens; his step-children, Dshawitwain, Dramonte and Dianthia Kelley; love son, Chardale Govain; 21 grandchildren; nieces, Lakisha and Lamerera Randle; nephew, Darryl (Tiffany Krunzel) Shears; 8 great-nieces and great-nephews; and co-parent partner, Debra Govain. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Holmes-Taylor, and his sister, Debra Garner.
