William K. “Bill” Woodruff, 77, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, January 16, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.
Graveside services are 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the LeClaire American Legion Post #347 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 9:15 a.m. Memorials may be made to Davenport Lutheran Home.
Bill was born May 7, 1947, in Covington, Kentucky, the son of Frank and Norma (Ward) Woodruff. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years. He loved being outdoors, spending many years in Colorado where he worked for the City of Denver. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Bill is survived by his grandson, William K. “Will” Woodruff III of Bettendorf; and his daughter-in-law, Amanda (Christopher Jones) Woodruff Jones of Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Norma Woodruff; his son, William K. “Keith” Woodruff II; and a brother, Robert “Bob” Woodruff.
