William L. Deadmond, Sr., 80, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery where Moline American Legion will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at River City Church, Moline.
William Lee Deadmond was born August 23, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Henry Myrle and Mazie (Nelems) Deadmond. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1962, and married Sharon Kaye VonMotz on May 13, 1961, in East Moline. He was a machine tool operator for John Deere for 32 years, and was active in UAW Local 434 and Industrial Equipment Local #1536. He had served the unions as president, financial secretary, and union time study engineer. Bill was a member of Kingdom Life Community Church, Morrison, and enjoyed woodworking and remodeling old houses, and had helped build four churches.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Rhonda Deadmond of Moline; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and David Murray, Beth Ann and Case Hemming, and Katherine Deadmond,; and four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Taylor, Gabriel, and Moxie. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Lea Deadmond; a granddaughter, Abigail Deadmond; and a sister, Phletious Eads.
