William A. Jamieson

William Alan “Bill” Jamieson passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Generations at Rock Island.

Bill was born in Moline, Illinois on June 19, 1945, to Harold and Margaret (Borst) Jamieson. A diehard fan of the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks, Bill graduated from Moline High School in 1963, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. A veteran of the United States Army, Bill was honorably discharged and went to work at International Harvester’s Farmall Works in Rock Island. He stayed at Farmall until the plant closed, then accepted a position with Navistar in Springfield, Ohio, retiring with 30 years of service. 

Bill is survived by his sister Judy (Dennis) McSparin, four nephews and one niece, and many grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara (Frank) Sundeen, and brothers Edward (Martha) and Richard Jamieson. 

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. There will be no services. Following cremation, Bill will be interred at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
