William L. Griffin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William Leroy Griffin, 63, of Rock Island, Illinois, who left us on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

William Leroy Griffin was born on June 16, 1961, in Rock Island, Illinois to William and Dorothy (Schisler) Griffin. 

Affectionately known as "Luck," a name given to him by his mother, William brought joy and laughter to those around him. He had a deep love for music, a good smoke, and classic television, finding comfort in shows like All in the Family, Let’s Make a Deal, and Happy Days. But above all, his greatest joy was his family—especially his grandchildren, who knew him as "Coco." They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

William is survived by his children, Timothy (Crystal) Griffin and Trista (Jay) Ahrens; grandchildren, Brady (Karla), Andrew, Jordan, Timothy Jr. “T.J.”, and Avarie Lynn; and great-grandchild, Valentina. He also leaves behind his siblings, Mary, Libby, Connie, Crystal, Ron, Bill, Chris, Kevin, Billie, Lin, Becky, and Karen. He was preceded by his parents and siblings, Johnny and Bonnie Jo. 

William’s memory will live on in the laughter of his family, the music he loved, and the stories shared by those who knew him best. His spirit remains in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call him family and friend.
