Aledo Funeral Services for William F. Hays, 72, of Aledo will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Evangelical Free Church, Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #121of Aledo. Visitation is Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at Grace Evangelical Free Church. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #121 of Aledo. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo is in charge of arrangements. Bill died on Sunday, June 16, 2002 at the Mercer County Hospital. Bill was born on June 27, 1929 in Mercer County, Illinois to Cecil and Dorothy (Hadsell) Hays. He married Sherry Craft in February of 1967 in Aledo. Bill was an appliance repairman and electrician for many years. He also enjoyed farming, especially growing stawberries. Bill served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Bil is survived by his wife, Sherry; 4 sons and a daughter-in-law: William Dean and Dr. Jill Hays, Michael and Gary Hays all of Aledo and Richard Hays of Davenport; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul Hays of Philadelphia, PA; Ernest and Bev Hays of Aledo and Aurther and Judy Hays of Colchester, IL and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Joan and Dick Long of Davenport and Jean and Bill Crump of Pleasant Valley.
