Will Hester, 67, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, May 1, 2017, at Manor Care Health, Davenport.
A service celebrating Will's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Paradise Baptist Church, Rock Island. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Will Clay Hester was born November 29, 1949, in Heth, Arkansas, to Clarence and Hattie Mae Hester. He attended Mildred Jackson School in Hughes, Arkansas.
He loved music, dancing, knew the Bible and loved reading. He loved cooking his favorite food, fried chicken and fish, and loved his sweets.
Survivors include his son, Will Hester, Jr. of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Jackie Hester of Sherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Latavia Hester, Braylen Lindsey, and Jariyah Robinson, all of Sherwood; sisters, Louise Brown and Betty Kimbrough, both of Toledo, Ohio, Carolyn Hester of Marion, Arkansas, and Brenda Kidd of Copperas Cove, Texas; brothers, Theodore Roosevelt (Sue) Hester, of Davenport, Lonnie (Beverly) Hester of Kansas City, Douglas (Minnie) Hester of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert (Florence) Hester of Arlington, Texas, Charles (Jammie) Hester of Proctor, Arkansas, and Bedford Ray (Latonya) Hester of Jonesboro, Arkansas; anda host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a baby girl at birth.
The family would like to acknowledge the medical staff at the 3rd floor Genesis West Hospital, the Iowa Cancer Specialist Center, Dr. Kovach and staff, Manor Care and staff, Heartland Hospice Care and staff, and a special thanks to Patrick of Manor Care and Ms. Georgia, family, and friends for your prayers.
