Wendy Wannen, 73, of St. Paul, Minnesota and (formerly) Muscatine, Iowa, passed away at home this week surrounded by family.
Wendy grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as an administrative assistant for thirty years at several companies, including MUSCO Lighting. She was active in the church choir and in various women’s church groups.
She was married to her husband, Doug, for 52 years. They had two daughters and three granddaughters. Wendy appreciated the joys of family life and church community. She loved spending time with her family and traveling with her husband and daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Scott) and Heather (Doug); grandchildren, Marissa (Ryan), Helena, and Meg; brother Mark (Christine); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Doug; her mother, Evelyn; and father, Claude.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. She will be forever in our hearts as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend. We are grateful for the many years and loving memories together.
The family wishes to thank the ICU staff of UnityPoint Health Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, Illinois, for their care and expertise. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people offer memorial donations to the King’s Harvest Animal Shelter in Davenport, Iowa, or to the ASPCA. The family also encourages everyone to call their loved ones to share how much they mean to them.
