Wayne L. Goodwin, 73, of Davenport, Iowa, went to endless gardens in the celestial heavens on Friday, April 16, 2021, to plant flowers and juicy Iowa tomatoes.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. No services are scheduled. Memorials may be made to Jackson County Humane Society, Maquoketa, Iowa, or King’s Harvest Pet Shelter, Davenport.
Wayne Lynn Goodwin was born December 12, 1947, in Independence, Kansas, to Jack and Virginia (Holestine) Goodwin. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971. He married Julie Roling on November 23, 1984, in Bellevue, Iowa. He was an iron worker with local 111, and then worked as a maintenance planner/scheduler at Alcoa for 30 years, retiring in 2008.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Julie; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Goodwin; Julie’s siblings and spouses, Gene and Donna Roling, Savannah, New York, Phil and Jackie Roling, Overland Park, Kansas, Steve and Peggy Roling of Bellevue, Iowa, Jane and Emil Kucirek of Bellevue, Washington, Joyce Roling of Dubuque, Iowa, and Jenny and Jack Edwards of Abingdon, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. The two cats he loved, Hillary and Nancy, also survive.
