Walter Z. Nenycz, Jr., 74, of Moline, Illinois, died at home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
A gathering to celebrate Walter's life will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Colona American Legion. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.
Walter was born May 18, 1944, in Ukraine, the son of Walter (Volodymyr) Nenycz and Stefania (Tesluk) Nenycz. He worked for Carpenters Union Local 166 in Milan for 25 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, Corvette Club, Vets on the River, and volunteered for the Mississippi Blood Center, Arthur Murray Dance Studio, and Junior Achievement. He enjoyed dancing, truck driving, hunting, traveling, taking pictures, and was a skilled mechanic and handyman.
Walter is survived by a son, Tye Nenycz of East Moline; a granddaughter, Mattie Nenycz; and siblings, Stephanie Bach of Tampa, Florida, Luba (Larry) Scarborough of Knox, Indiana, Olga Frazier-Byer of Tampa, and Terresa Neumann of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jerry Nenycz and Wally Tesluk.
