East Moline, Illinois Services for Vivian M. Bishop, 79, of East Moline, Illinois, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Elder Pat Reeves, Moline Community of Christ, will officiate. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Youth Service Bureau, Moline. Mrs. Bishop passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Illini Hospital, Silvis, Illinois. The former Vivian Marcella Bauser was born August 25, 1923, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Royal and Lena (Myers) Bauser. She married Bernard Bishop on June 22, 1942, in Bowling Green, Missouri, while he was on leave after the ship he was stationed on, the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington, was sunk during WW II. Vivian traveled all over the United States during WW II to be at whatever port her naval husband came home to when returning from duty. She had wonderful stories to tell of the people she met and the experiences she had while traveling. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose interests were always focused on her immediate and extended family. She is survived by four children and spouses, R. W. "Skip" Bishop of Moline, Gayle Bishop of Moline, R. Stan and Barbara Bishop of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Lynn and Joe Chlumsky of Cary, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Nathan Bishop and his wife Deana, Amanda Bishop, Valerie Bishop, Adam Bishop, and Christopher Vallee; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Noah and Mason Bishop; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Bauser of Bellflower, California.
