Virginia Allen

Graveside Services for Virginia Allen, 70, of Matherville will be Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Virginia Allen Memorial Fund.

Virginia died on Saturday, October 20, 2001 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Virginia was born on June 7, 1931 in Rock Island to Albert D. and Helen (Pohlpeter) Lampson. She married Ethan Allen on April 26, 1956 in Cambridge, Illinois. Virginia was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Matherville, of which she was active in the Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia had two special cats, Wilson and Smokey.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Ethan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine Allen-Thompson and Dave Thompson of Aledo and Rita and Bob McNamara of Wilton; a son, Michael Allen of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Josiff Thompson, Christopher McNamara, Ashleigh McNamara, Chelsea McNamara, Adam McNamara, Melissa Allen and Kevin Allen; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Devan Allen; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Billie Lind of Dubois, WY. Virgnia was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diane in infancy; a grandson, Eric McNamara and a brother, Harold Lampson.
