Virgene M. Harris

Virgene M. Harris, 81, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in the emergency room at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.

Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Coal Valley Cemetery. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

The former Virgene Margaret Swartz was born September 3, 1936, in Rock Island. She was a supply clerk for the Rock Island Arsenal for 13 years.

Virgene had a strong faith, and particularly enjoyed reading her bible and listening to Christian music. She loved caring for many pets over the years. Above all else, she like to spend time with her family.

She last resided at Hope Creek Care Center, where she received wonderful care by a beautiful and caring staff.

Virgene is survived by two children, Mark Harris of Rock Island, and Julie Baccula of California; two grandchildren, Lauren and Avery; a sister-in-law, Jackie Swartz of Milan; nieces and nephews, Laurie and Bill Lomba of Moline, Renee and John Doxsee of Moline, Duane Swartz of Milan, and Darren Swartz of Milan; several great-nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including Valerie and Timothy Flaherty of Moline. Shew as preceded in death by her mother, Prudence Ina Swartz; and a brother, Paul Swartz.
