Vincent Leo Perez, 68, of Longmont, Colorado, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly in an auto accident on Friday, July 15, 2016, in Longmont, Colorado.
The family will be hosting a hospitality gathering from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vincent's life. Condolences may be sent to his daughter Nicole Perez at 10699 Durango Place, Longmont CO, 80504.
Son of Esther and Seferino Don Perez, Vincent was born February 6, 1948, in Galesburg, Illinois. He graduated from Alleman High School in 1967. Shortly after graduating high school he began a long career in law enforcement with the Rock Island County Sheriff's department. His children remember him as a generous and charismatic father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Many of Vincent's friends and family will remember the years he lived on the Rock River. He was a true outdoorsman, boating and water skiing the river at every opportunity. Later in life he moved out to Longmont, Colorado, where his passions took him hiking and camping throughout the Rocky Mountains. He was a giving and witty individual who loved a good story and time spent with his family.
Vincent is survived by his children, Nicole Perez and Jason Perez; parents Don and Esther Perez, and siblings John Perez, Julius Perez, Michael Perez, Benita Perez-DeLoach, and Andrew Perez.
The Perez family would like to thank the community for their overwhelming support and caregiving during this unexpected time of mourning.
