Victor W. Hale, 85, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.
Services are Noon Friday, May 20, 2022, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Dr. Melvin Grimes officiating. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to Victoria Bell, for a fund to be established in Victor’s memory.
Victor Wayman Hale was born December 16, 1936, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Cluster and Janetta (Robinson) Hale. He retired from the Rock Island Post Office.
He was a jack of all trades, but more than anything he was a businessman. He always had several side businesses, whether it be carpet sales, the grocery business, or his real passion, real estate.
Victor is survived by his beloved daughter, Victoria Bell of Blue Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Xavier D. Clark, Javin N. Whiteside, and Javon D. Whiteside, Jr.; a great-grandson, Ashton J. Whiteside; his siblings, Mary “Penny” Kyle, Chester Hale, Sharon Hale, and Gloria Vonentzminger, all of Detroit, Michigan; Victoria’s mother and Victor’s close friend, Lillie M. Bell; his devoted friend, Charles Muscovalley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Harding.
