Victor Eric Pearson Jr., 95, of Bettendorf, died on Tuesday, Jun 3, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quad City Music Guild.
Vic was born February 24, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Anna Gustafson and Victor Eric Pearson Sr. He married the former Helen Miedke in 1942, and then the former Harriet Kiely in 1973, and Edye Rentz Morrison in 2004. He was the first Rock Island County Director of Purchasing, retiring in1985. Previous employment included Hedberg Office Supplies, Modern Printing, Tri City Blueprint, and Lagomarcino's. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, big band music, travel, and magic.
He was past president of Rock Island Rotary Club and Quad City Music Guild, and active in numerous organizations including Quad Cities Senior Olympics, Scott County Mental Health Association, Rock Island County Mental Health Society, Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging, Salvation Army, Moline United Fund, Moline Chamber of Commerce, YMCA's Men's Club, and Boy Scout Scoutmaster.
Survivors include his wife Edye of Bettendorf; son and daughter-in-law, David and Rita Pearson of Coal Valley, Illinois; daughter, Debra Kay Pearson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Karen Pearson of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and Nicole and Jason Cunningham of Mattoon, Illinois; and great-granddaughters, Natalie and Lauren Pearson. His brother Robert preceded him.
