Vera M. Goode

Vera M. Goode, 82, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Friday, November 7,2014, in her home.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley. Private graveside services and burial are 12 Noon Tuesday at Coal Valley Cemetery,

The former Vera Mae Eakins was born January 8, 1932, in Blakesburg, Iowa, to Omer and Christina Swaim Eakins. She married Warren H. Goode on June 19, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He died March 27, 2010. She had been employed in food service at the Moline Holiday Inn, and was interested in homeopathic health.

Vera is survived by three children and their spouses, Jim and Sharon Goode of New Windsor, Illinois, Bruce Goode of Coal Valley; and Sharon and Tom Peters of Coal Valley; seven grandchildren, Seth Goode, Christina Marxen and her husband Mike, Jessica Whisman, Devin Goode, Nick Kofski, Jennifer Peters, and Abby Peters; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Audrey and Dolores.
