Velvet A. Barefoot-Langston, 53, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island after a long courageous battle with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial in her honor on April 30th, 2021, 4-6pm at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st St, Coal Valley, Illinois. Velvet donated her body to the University of Iowa.

The former Velvet Ann Barefoot was born May 10, 1967, in Korea. She was adopted by Deanna and Jackie Barefoot when she was 3 years old. Velvet Barefoot graduated from Moline High School in 1986. She worked for IHMVCU as a teller early in her career. She also worked for Village Inn as a waitress, a Barista at Starbucks and lastly worked at Dewey’s Café in Bettendorf.

Velvet was a character that is not soon easily forgotten-Infectious laugh, wicked sense of humor and loved her family, friends and doggo pals, fiercely. She enjoyed fishing, being around water, was the best pup sitter and the very best of friends. She also enjoyed taking unique photos of nature’s beauty.

Velvet is survived by her sons, Jason Langston (Suzy Dauscher) Rock Island. IL and Samuel Langston (Shyanne Black) Burlington, IA; and her brother, James Barefoot. She was preceded in death by her parents Deanna and Jackie Barefoot and her beloved dog, Ali.
