Moline, Illinois Services for Velma L. Cook, 93, of Murray, Kentucky, formerly of Moline, are 11:15 a.m. Friday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 503 Maple Street, Murray, Kentucky 42071. Mrs. Cook died Friday, September 28, 2001, in West View Nursing Home, Murray, Kentucky. The former Velma Linder was born December 18, 1907, in Lowden, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Roehlk) Linder. She married Earle J. Cook on January 31, 1933, in LaSalle, Illinois. He died July 1, 1994. She attended Augustana College and teacher's colleges in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and DeKalb, Illinois. She was a librarian for the Moline Public Library for 12 years, during which time she was the original Bookmobile librarian for 10 years. She previously taught in Iowa rural schools and Silvis public schools. She loved her home, her family and friends, and was an avid Bridge player. Velma is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Bruce Puschnig of Murray, Kentucky; a grandson, Michael Puschnig of Fort Collins, Colorado; a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Andrew Midden of Springfield, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, and Marcus Midden; and a brother, Delbert Linder.
