Violet V. ?Tillie? Hawotte, 90, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in Forest Hill Nursing and Rehab Center, East Moline.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The former Violet Virginia Pearson was born February 8, 1917, in Moline, the daughter of Lucy E. (Thompson) and Carl S. Pearson. She married Joffre Hawotte on May 12, 1937, in Moline. He died May 30, 1984. She was a packer at Y & S Candies in Moline for 25 years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed reading and playing cards and Bingo.
Violet is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Merle Casel of Moline and Becky and Dale Davidson of Maquoketa, Iowa; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nellie Gustafson of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Mary Vander Hayden and Elizabeth Fuller, and a great-grandson.
