Troy C. Bulten, 52, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established to battle mental illness in Troy’s memory.
Troy Curtis Bulten was born June 10, 1969, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of John Junior and Mary (Ward) Bulten. He married Jennifer Smith, with whom he had two children before separating. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and then the U.S. Navy. He went on to become a welder for several years.
Troy was a people person who quite simply loved being around others and having a good time. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and karaoke.
Troy is survived by his mother, Mary Bulten of Bettendorf; two children, Trenton and Brooke Bulten of Florida; two brothers, Tod (Char Hoff) Bulten of Vinton, Iowa, and Trevor (Andrea Moore) Bulten of Bettendorf; his beloved nieces and nephews, Lisa Betts, Cris Bulten, Tonya Bulten, and Tessa, Theron, Tayden, and Teagan Bulten; five uncles; one aunt; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John Junior Bulten, and a special cousin, Cory Ward.
