Trinidad Carrillo Ortiz

Trinidad Carrillo Ortiz, 66, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family.

A rosary service will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 10, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation will immediately follow the rosary from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, with Father Antonio Dittmer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Trinidad was born September 7, 1958, in Laguna Larga de Cortés, Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of José Carrillo and Piedad Ortiz. On December 12, 1990, he married Arcelia Sierra, the love of his life, with whom he shared over 34 wonderful years. Trinidad worked for many years at Tyson Foods before retiring.

He had a deep love for reading, especially history, and enjoyed watching westerns and Club América on television. Trinidad loved the outdoors, taking walks, riding horses, and visiting his family in Mexico. Above all, his family was the center of his world, particularly his beloved grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.

Trinidad is survived by his devoted wife, Arcelia Sierra de Carrillo; his three children, Sandra Carrillo of Moline, Trino (Isabel Diaz) Carrillo of Rock Island, and Cruz (Emilio Valenzuela) Carrillo of Moline; five grandchildren, his pride and joy, Giovanni and Diego Carrillo, Anahi Carrillo, and Ezekiel and Camila Valenzuela; seven siblings, Gabriel, Rafael, Alberto, Angel, Rosario, Jose and Mario Carrillo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Trinidad le sobreviven su devota esposa, Arcelia Sierra de Carrillo; sus tres hijos, Sandra Carrillo de Moline, Trino (Isabel Díaz) Carrillo de Rock Island y Cruz (Emilio Valenzuela) Carrillo de Moline; cinco nietos, su orgullo y alegría, Giovanni y Diego Carrillo, Anahí Carrillo, y Ezequiel y Camila Valenzuela; siete hermanos, Gabriel, Rafael, Alberto, Ángel, Rosario, José y Mario Carrillo; y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas. Fue precedido en muerte por sus padres.
