Edward L. Phillips, Jr., 42, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Maroa, Illinois, died Saturday, July 2, in the emergency room at Trinity Moline.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. An additional memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Illinois. Burial will take place at a later date in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital or a favorite charity.
Edward Lee Phillips, Jr. was born October 9, 1968, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Edward Sr. and Sharon Kay (Lanckton) Phillips. He graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School and later DeVry University.
He was a truck driver for Oakley Transport, Inc. since 2008. He previously drove for Midwest Coast Transport for five years. He loved being on the road and spending time with his family and many friends.
Ed is survived by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Lisa Phillips, and their children, Richelle and Glenn, all of Maroa, Illinois, a daughter, Amanda, a step-grandmother, Charlotte Lanckton of Decatur, an uncle and his wife, Harold and Niva Phillips of Alexander, Arkansas, and aunts, Beverly Peifer of Sebring, Florida, and Linda Phillips of Atlanta, Missouri, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mona Phillips, and Glenn and Louise Lanckton, and an uncle, Larry Phillips.
