Thomas Ramirez

Thomas Ramirez, 63, of Colona, Illinois, died Saturday, December 12, 2020, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Colona, with a celebration of life at a later date. The service will be livestreamed at www.Facebook.com/TrimbleFuneralHome/live . Burial is in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.

Tom was born June 16, 1957, in Moline, to Gregory and Anastacia “Martha” (Martel) Ramirez. He married Debra Timmerman on July 18, 1992, in Geneseo. He worked 33 years at John Deere Davenport Works, where he was known as “Tommy Tuesday”, and was a member of UAW Local 281. For the last six years, he worked at the gas station for Sam’s Club in Davenport.

He loved driving his slingshot and watching the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching movies on his big screen, bowling, golfing, and playing euchre. He liked holidays, helping his wife decorate for Halloween and Christmas, and playing Santa Claus for the grandkids and anyone else who asked.

Above all else, family was the most important thing to Tom. He was a proud grandfather who loved playing with them, going to their events, and following their accomplishments.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Debra; children, Anastacia (Daniel) Neises of Andalusia, Jennifer (Louis) Redmond of Davenport, Thomas John Ramirez of Davenport, Lawrence “LJ” Jungwirth III of Colorado, Jennifer (John) Owens of Orion, and Robin of East Moline; grandchildren, Ceceila and Cruz Neises, Dominik and Derik Jungwirth, Jaidyn Owens, Brittany, Louis “LJ” and Taylor Redmond, Anthony, Alejandro and Lauren; and siblings, Carol (Roger) Parker, Greg Ramirez, and Isabell Hurst. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Martha and Pete Puga; his father; and a brother, Rick Ramirez.
