Thomas "Duffy" Bruchmann

February 24, 1945 — February 11, 2023

Thomas “Duffy” Bruchmann, 77, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Services are at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to services. Following services, friends and family are invited to gather for lunch in the lower level of Trimble Pointe, CityView Celebrations. In keeping with Tom’s wishes, the rite of cremation has been accorded. Private burial will take place at a later date, at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.

Thomas Edward Bruchmann was born February 24, 1945 in Rock Island, Illinois. He graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island, and the University of Iowa with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. He married the love of his life, Roseanna Posateri, on September 2, 1967, in Rock Island, Illinois.

He owned and operated several bars throughout the Quad Cities, including “The Meat Market Saloon and Deli” and “Fat Boys Pizza” on Washington Street in Davenport for 40 years before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, the United States, the Caribbean, and Canada; exploring new restaurants (preferring to eat local over chain restaurants); giving advice; and spending time with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed the musical Les Misérables, having seen it at least six times, listening to Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, taking country roads instead of interstates; eating his wife’s homemade meatballs; visiting Wisconsin Supper Clubs; playing Blackjack with his granddaughter; and planning road trips with the help of his well-used Atlas. He was a unique and colorful character and will be dearly missed.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roseanna Bruchmann; daughter, Janna Hann; granddaughter, Abby Moroney; nephews, Bret Feeney and Andy (Meredith) Feeney; a sister, Barbara Bennett; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George Bruchmann; mother, Lucy Bruchmann; birth mother, Frances Archer Bennett; sister, Mary Anne Feeney; and close friend Anna Murray. May they rest in peace.

His family thanks his doctors and the entire medical team in the Quad Cities and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, especially Dr. Daniel Berg and also the team at Unity Point Hospice for his care.

Memorials may be made in Tom’s memory to Tunnel to Towers or The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Department of Oncology.
