Susan McKeag, 77, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Friday, December 30, 2022, in her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is two hours before the service. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals.

The former Susan Mae Ekstrom was born August 3, 1945, in Rock Island, to Donovan and Edna Ekstrom. She attended Western Illinois University and married James A. McKeag on September 21, 1968, in Rock Island. He died July 14, 1986. She retired as a supervisor at Americold Cold Storage in 2009. She loved her dogs and enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and reading.

Sue is survived by children and spouses, Dawn Cousins of Rock Island, Donivan and Tara McKeag of Geneseo, Matthew and Chelsie Cousins of Moline, Dalton Thompson of Coal Valley, Amanda DeBates of Rock Island, and Tyler DeBates of Coal Valley; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Carson, and Cooper McKeag; four great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Claire Ekstrom of Coal Valley.
