Susan Karwath, 68, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Bettendorf.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley, Illinois, with Fr. Jim DeBisschop officiating. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 a,m until funeral time. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospitals.

The former Susan Marie Masengarb was born September 19, 1949, in Moline, Illinois, to Wiman Lee and Sarah Lois Brown Masengarb. She married David Karwath on October 29, 1969, in Rock Island. He died September 21, 2011. She was a secretary at Scott County Court House, Haga Tool in Bettendorf, and Michael Battery in Davenport. She enjoyed collecting cookie jars, playing bingo and computer games, and doing ceramics and crafts.

Sue is survived by two children, Kimberly DeBruyn of Davenport and Todd Karwath of Bettendorf; and a granddaughter Jessica Lynn Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband and five brothers, Thomas, James, Jeffrey, Mark and Steven Masengarb.
