Susan H. Blanford, 66, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
A hospitality gathering to celebrate Suzie’s life will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.
Susan Helene Baumhardt was born July 14, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Leo Sr. and Edith (Burns) Baumhardt. She married the love of her life, Thomas G. “Jerry” Blandford on May 5, 1990, in Coal Valley, Illinois. He died October 20, 2014.
Suzie loved her career as a bartender and owned and operated Tilly’s Bar & Grill for many years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Her hobbies included planting flowers, cooking and baking. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Suzie, and she especially loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Suzie is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joshua and Vicki Blanford of Moline, and Heith Delacruzham of Moline; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Saundra (Rico) Ceballos, Thekla “Kathy” (Tim) Mowery, Terry Rodney, Benno Baumhardt, and Harold Brewer; many nieces and nephews; and her in-laws, with whom she remained close. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Blandford; and brothers, Richard Baumhardt and Leo Baumhardt, Jr.
