Suellen Bainter

Suellen Bainter, 82, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Suellen Leander was born November 8, 1942, in Moline, the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy Leander. She worked as an RN for the former Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island, and then Trinity Medical Center. She married Donald Bainter, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2002. 

Suellen enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her many pets over the years. 

She is survived by three children, John (Melody) Bainter of Easley, South Carolina, Joann Bainter of Orion, and Richard Bainter of Rock Island; grandchildren, Donald (Lynsay) Bainter, Cecylia Bainter, Steven Bainter, Alana Bainter, Andrew Bainter and Susan Bainter; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; daughter, Julie Bainter; and brother, Daniel Leander.
