Sue Pace, 71, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at home.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Ron Philpot officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Alina Sue Butler was born December 30, 1951, the daughter of Max and Nelma (Best) Butler. She graduated from UTHS and went on to marry the love of her life, Don Pace on August 21, 1999, in the Chapel on the Hill in Geneseo, Illinois. She worked for group homes for the elderly and handicapped for many years, retiring in 2001.
Sue was a member of Northcrest Calvary Baptist Church, Moline. She loved singing and traveling with Don, and treasured their trips to Florida and Kentucky. She also enjoyed crafts and will be remembered for her blankets and crosses. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Sue, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her husband, Don; three children and their spouses, Aaron and Amanda Harlan of Bettendorf, Iowa, Adam and Darci Harlan of Silvis, Illinois, and Amy Jenkins of Coal Valley, Illinois; grandchildren, Dallan, Dracen and Callum Harlan, Kyle and Kaylee Harlan, Dillon Loete, Dannica Harlan, and Alexis, Monte Jr., Matthew, and Ayla Jenkins; two great-grandchildren, Zyaire and Willow Jenkins; sisters, Sheila Ulmer and Jewel Peterson; adopted sister, Connie (Jimmy) Lawver; step-siblings, Susan (Alan) Kitterman, Rose Multer, and Kenneth Peterson; and many good friends including her best friend, Delores Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
