Stuart P. Jackson

Stuart Jackson, 64, of Moline, Illinois, died suddenly Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Rochester, Minnesota.

A celebration of Stuart's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, beginning with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, and continuing with a hospitality gathering in CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe until 7:00 p.m. Prior to services, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Stuart Paul Jackson was born July 22, 1951, in Ilion, New York, the son of Fredrick and Alice (Smith) Jackson. He married Anne Meath on July 6, 1974, in Phelps, New York. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and went on to earn his doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law.

He was an attorney in Watertown, New York and served as the Assistant District Attorney in Gouverneur, New York, before moving to the Midwest. He was an attorney in the real estate division of the Corps of Engineers for 25 years, first in St. Paul, Minnesota, and then on the Rock Island Arsenal. He officially retired on February 29, 2016.

Stuart had a wide variety of interests, including hiking, going for long drives, listening to music (especially from the 60's), and reading anything from Scientific American to current events.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; a son, Christopher Jackson of Moline; a daughter, Alaine Jackson and her husband, Steve Block, of Moline; siblings, Lorraine Storey of Camden, New York, Mark and Glenda Jackson of Rome, New York, and Doug and Phyllis Jackson of Oneida, New York; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
