Shirley Rummery, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, May 24, 2010, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Shirley Marie Braucht was born November 12, 1930, in East Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Hilda (Muecke) Braucht. She married A. Wayne Rummery on October 21, 1951, in East Moline. He died December 17, 2004.
Shirley was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, and King?s Daughters. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, traveling, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Rummery of Rock Island, Illinois, Jonathan Rummery of East Moline, and Susan Rummery of Racine, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Don Veskauf of East Moline.
