Shirley M. Klann

Shirley M. Klann, 86, of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. William Adams officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Historical Society or Hope Creek Care Center Activity Department.

The former Shirley Maxine Winborn was born January 15, 1931, in Davenport, Iowa, to George and Gladys (Carpenter) Winborn. She married Robert Woods Klann on July 5, 1952, in Davenport. He died December 1, 2014. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Blackhawk Genealogy Society, Rock Island County Historical Society and John Deere Women. She loved spending time with her family, and had been active in PTA and Girl Scouts when her children were young. She enjoyed dogs, horses, building model sailboats, and working in leather.

Shirley is survived by three children, David Klann and his fiancée Theresa Zugmaier of Bettendorf, Iowa, Cathy Schwabe and her husband Greg of Moline, and Susan Ryder and her husband John of East Moline; five grandchildren and their spouses, Zachary Klann, Brittany and Mike Williams, Josh and Tasha Schwabe, John Ryder, and Katie and Abe Hassebrock; three great grandchildren; and siblings, Lois Jean Paulsen of Arlington, Texas, and Ed Winborn of Davenport.
