Shirley Irene Poston

Shirley I. Poston, 90, of Moline, died, Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday at Hope United Church of Christ, Moline, where she was a member, with the Reverend A. Parker Lewis III officiating. Visitation is from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ. The former Shirley Irene Ellison was born March 23, 1914, in Rock Island, Illinois the daughter of Elwyn Ferdinand and Frances Marion (Schofer) Ellison. She married Richard Harold Poston on June 6, 1935 in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1977. Shirley was active in Esther Circle at Hope U.C.C., King's Daughters, Moline, and in various card clubs. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cat Misty. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Marcia Poston, Rock Island, six grandchildren, Jeff and Jandy Poston, Rock Island, Holli Fitzpatrick and Steve Steffenson, Moline, Dave Gross, Des Moines, IA, Doug Gross, Woodstock, IL, Terri and Mark Fredricks, Rock Island, and Doug Poston, Milan. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Robert E. Poston, and a sister, Roberta Ann Efflandt.
