Shirley A. Bottorff Hass, 81, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa, following surgical complications.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
Shirley was born June 2, 1936, in Princeton, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Kelly Anderson. She united in marriage to Delbert C. Bottorff in 1956, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1986. She graduated from Princeton High School, helped run the family business, Del's Mobile Home Service, in the 1960's and 70's, and drove buses for Dan-A-Way Bus Service in Coal Valley. She then ventured onto working at Bear Manufacturing, Rock Island, for many years, retiring from Marley Pumps, Davenport, in 2001.
Shirley was a very determined woman, insisting on fixing everything herself.
Survivors include children and spouses, Tamera and Chuck Jones of Bennett, Iowa, Gary and Sue Bottorff of Moline, and Naomi and Jim Owens of Clinton, Iowa; step-daughter Connie McKee of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, William Anderson, David Anderson, Marilyn Nesbitt, and Lois Johnson.
