Sherry Park, 77, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at home with her family all around.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, Coal Valley, with Reverend Tracy Irvin officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the Sherry Park Memorial Fund to be established by the family.
The former Sherry Leta Riley was born October 8, 1932, in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of James Percy and Beatrice (Burford) Riley. She married Richard Eugene Park on September 16, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa. He died May 28, 1997.
Sherry enjoyed gambling on the riverboats, playing cards in her card club, crafts, sewing, cooking, reading, and especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Larry VanCoillie of Rock Island, Vickie and Mike Farber of Coal Valley, and Donna and Chuck Nicholas of Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Bobbi Park of Moline; grandchildren, Morgan Park, Lindsay Park, Joshua and Kyle Nicholas, Adam and Shacarre VanCoillie, Angela and Shawn Hart, David Woeckener, Nikki and Steve Hernandez, Jason Farber, Mike and Melissa Nicholas, and Ben Nicholas; 15great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ron Henson of Moline, and a sister-in-law, Arena Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Richard James park, a grandson, Erik VanCoillie, and a brother, Bert ?Bud? Riley.
