Sherry L. Mitchell, 73, of East Moline, Illinois, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation is 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Private burial will take place in the mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Sherry Lynne Short was born February 2, 1940, in Moline, the daughter of Edward and Erma (Harrgis) Short. She married Edward Youngs in 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois. She later married Robert Mitchell on June 1, 1990, in Nashua, Iowa. He died January 28, 2001.
She worked as a dental technician for Browns Dental Lab until 1983. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts.
Sherry is survived by two children, Robin and Jeffrey Bivens of Milan, Illinois, and Keith Youngs and Bobbie Millwood of Rock Island; grandchildren, Garret Bivens, and Jennifer and Russell Katzenburger; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Judith Bybee of Andover, Illinois, and Edward and Lola Short of Matherville, Illinois, and close friends, Wendy Kirby of East Moline, and Sherry Murphy of Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a granddaughter, Claire Youngs.
