Sheila J. Hewitt

Sheila J. Hewitt, 61, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in her residence.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Reverend Larry Conway officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Moline Parks and Recreation Department.

Sheila June Hewitt was born June 17, 1954, in Moline, the daughter of Milas and June (Sellers) Hewitt. She earned a bachelor's degree in horticulture from LSU. She lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, for many years, where she worked in software sales. She moved back to the Quad Cities in June of 2015 to be close to her family.

Sheila had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. She was a very generous woman. Some of the organizations that were important to her were the Daughters of the American Revolution, Disabled American Veterans, the Rock Island County Historical Society, Living Lands and Waters, and the Simms/Mann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology. She enjoyed hiking and traveling.

Sheila leaves behind many beloved cousins and their families and a host of very dear friends in California and here in the Quad Cities. She will always be remembered as a vibrant woman with an irreplaceable twinkle in her eye and a gorgeous smile that could really light up the room.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
