Sharon L. Hemphill

Sharon L. Hemphill, 69, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at home.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Sharon was born April 13, 1946, in Moline, the daughter of Lyle and Elizabeth (Foster) Hemphill. She worked as a bartender, waitress, and in customer service for many area businesses. Most recently, she was self-employed cleaning homes.

She was an avid photographer and animal lover. She was very compassionate and motherly, and was known for sending cards to friends and family for every occasion. Above all else, she was a proud and devoted grandmother.

Sharon is survived by her son, Stacy Hemphill of Moline; three grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Kayla Hemphill; three brothers, Robert Hemphill of Moline, William Hemphill of Monmouth, and Barry Hemphill of Colona; two sisters, Sandy Draper of Spring Hill, Florida, and Kathy Stout of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry Hemphill.
