Sarah J. Cooper, 92, of Knoxville, Illinois, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at Beulah Cemetery, Orion. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Sarah Jane Duncan was born October 3, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois. She married Robert J, Cooper, Sr., on February 14, 1939, in Lancaster, Missouri. He died November 16, 1986. She and her husband farmed near Coal Valley for many years.
Sarah is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sharon Cooper of Knoxville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jonathon M. Cooper, Shaun M. Cooper, and Michelle L. Cooper; and her brother, Raymond Duncan. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Robert Cooper, Jr., a daughter Pearl Jean Cooper; and brothers, Harvey, Glenn and Richard Duncan.
