Moline, Illinois Ruth M. Corkery, 82, of Moline, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in her home. Services are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Christ The King Catholic Church Building Fund, American Cancer Society, or Pathway Hospice. The former Ruth Margaret Dingman was born September 25, 1920, in St. Paul, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Ellen (Hellman) Dingman. She graduated from Iowa State, Ames, with an engineering degree, and worked for General Electric in Eastern states prior to her marriage. During WW II, she worked at Curtis-Wright in St. Louis. She married Leon Corkery on September 25, 1949, in Fort Madison, Iowa. She was Quality Engineer at John Deere Foundry for 10 years, retiring in 1984, and previously taught math at Calvin Coolidge Junior High School, Moline, for ten years. Ruth is survived by her husband, Leon; five sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Margaret Corkery of Littleton, Colorado, John and Dara Corkery of Gillette, Wyoming, Joe Corkery and Margaret Lukens of Burlingame, California, David and Cynthia Lord Corkery of Moline, and Dan and Victoria Corkery of Urbana, Illinois; six grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Roger Homer of Ames, Iowa, and Eileen and LaFayette Greischar of Emporia, Kansas; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Dingman of Fort Madison, Iowa. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Dingman and Jean Stanovich, and one brother, Jack Dingman.
