Ruth Lucille Mckay

Ruth L. McKay, age 88, of East Moline, passed on, Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Oak Glen Nursing Home, Coal Valley. Private Services will be held at Norwood Cemetery, Norwood, Illinois. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, Illinois. The former Ruth Lucille Lafferty was born September 3, 1915 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The daughter of Charles and Ida (Perkins) Lafferty. Ruth was employed as a private duty Licensed Practical Nurse in many residences. She had also worked at several nursing facilities and area hospitals, eventually retiring from St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center in Rock Island. Ruth was a loving, giving person her whole life, always putting herself second to everyone and their needs. She was also a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to the many who loved her. Ruth had a love for all people and animals and had a deep appreciation for God's Earth and all of it's Creatures. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Corwin of East Moline, a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Cheryl Corwin of Moline, four granddaughters, Tonnie and Joel Brown of Moline and Tammy and Tim O'Donnell of Moline, Ruthie Hasten of Moline, Victoria Fransene of East Moline, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters Martha Ulrich, and Ada Otteson, along with a brother in infancy.
