Ruth Brasmer, 91, of Southfield, Michigan, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, where she was a member. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Ruth Frances Hamilton was born August 2, 1924, in Moline, the daughter of Chauncey and Frieda (Ruebling) Hamilton. She married Ray Brasmer on April 23, 1950, in East Moline, Illinois. He died December 27, 2004.
Ruth was a Registered Nurse in the OB department at Moline Public Hospital before working for the offices of Dr. Katrana and Dr. Perlmutter. She was a member of the Nurses Alumni and Homemakers Home Extension. She volunteered in TLC, a reading program for children. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and birdwatching.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, David and Staci Brasmer of Astoria, Oregon, Paul and Marian Brasmer of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Susan and Tom McKinley of Columbus, Indiana; two grandchildren, Mark Brasmer of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Emily Brasmer of Sterling Heights; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Alice Kmetz.
