Russella M. Hagen, 86, formerly of Pleasant Plains, Illinois, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, in Aspen Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, is assisting the family.
Russella Mae Lane was born November 12, 1925, in Bath, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Jennie Kramer Lane. She married Robert William Hagen on June 6, 1948, in Chandlerville, Illinois. He died February 28, 2011.
Russella graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois, in 1946, and from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, in 1976. She was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital and a school nurse for the Pleasant Plains School District.
Russella is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend Robert and Vicki Hagen of Coal Valley, and Daniel and Rosemary Hagen of State College, Pennsylvania; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody and Tommie Stoner of Afton, Iowa, Karen and Monte Dickhut of Camp Point, Illinois, and Anita and William Million of Sidney, Illinois; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Lou Clemons of Pekin, Illinois. She was preceded in death by Her husband; brothers, Paul and Eldon Lane; and sisters, Annabelle Wheeler and Patsy Dickson.
