Silvis, Illinois Ruby Otts, 79, formerly of Silvis, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001, in her daughter's home in Moline, Illinois. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Miles Funeral Home, Winfield, Alabama, with additional visitation one hour before the services. Burial is in Providence Cemetery, Lamar County, Alabama. A memorial fund will be established in her name. The former Ruby Virginia Alexander was born January 31, 1922, in Winfield, Alabama, the daughter of John and Ada (Bostic) Alexander. She married Felton Otts on July 28, 1938, in Beaverton, Alabama; he died September 18, 1974. She was employed at Servus Rubber Company, Rock Island, Illinois, for 12 years, retiring in 1995, and previously worked at Rock Island Laundry for 37 years. She was a member of Rock Island Eastern Star, East Moline VFW Auxiliary, and Svithoid Club, Moline. She enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting the gambling boats on the Mississippi River. Ruby is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Daniel Biscontine of Moline, Inez Green of Silvis, Jeannette Coin of Moline, Debbie and Gary Nelson of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Wanda and Billy McCraw of Moline; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Otts of Davenport, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a nephew whom she raised, Cecil Hood of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Jimmy Otts, a niece whom she raised, Lena Morrow, and ten brothers and sisters.
